Incident: It was the end of the school day and I was getting driven home by one of my friend's moms. My friend and I were talking when my friend's mother said that she saw a man shambling across the road. She thought that his was odd because we were driving in a secluded area on the outskirts of town. Things got weirder after that when I looked behind a roadside bush and saw a man hunched over another man's body with his face in the guy's stomach. I was about to freak out, but the other two didn't say anything so I kept it to myself.
Then it happened: a man jumped into the street and was hit by our car. He flew though the air and landed, in two pieces, ten feet away. More people poured out from the surrounding woods and before we could get away the car was swarmed by zombies. My friend's mother was pulled out through the window, screaming her lungs out the whole time. Before the zombies had gotten a hold of her she had reached for the glove compartment, so after they pulled her out I hopped over the seat and opened the glove compartment and found a handgun inside with extra ammo. I have played airsoft tournaments and know how to handle a gun.
As I loaded a clip in my poor friend was also pulled through the window. The zombies pulled his head clear off; his headless body slumped in the seat, pouring blood all over the car.
I steeled myself and kicked open the door. One zombie was eviscerated by the jerking motion of the old car's door. I shot the nearest zombies in the head, dropping them to the ground with heavy thuds. I worked my way thought the crowd with the gun and after a lot of running, dodging, kicking and shooting, I managed to kill all of the monsters. After it was over I stood there in horror, my friend and his mother dead and bodies everywhere, covering my feet with a shallow sea of brown-red blood.
Comments from Dr. Pecos: I'm always up for a little zombie fiction, so thanks for the report. First off, an outbreak like the one you describe simply could not fly under the radar of the media. Not to mention, you wouldn't be long for this world if you waded into a pack of zombies armed with only a handgun.
